* STAND by for a battle royal between Scotland and Liechtenstein. The tiny European state has unveiled its own "scotch whisky". For four Generations, the Telser family have honed their skills in the distillation of pears, plums, apples and cherries - and now the've gone into whisky. It was made over a wood fire three years ago and stored in a barrel formerly holding a Pinot Noir wine, and the Telsers uncorked their product on as Scottish-type day - pouring wet. They said, they were very happy with the not-too-heavy whisky. Whe the scotch whisky police pounce, as they surely will, two countries not noted for a lively sense of humour can debate frankly and fully what a true "whisky" is.
